Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 16, 2026
TrelloWear ("the App") is a Wear OS application that allows users to interact with their Trello boards, lists, and cards from their smartwatch. This Privacy Policy describes how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Trello API Token: When you log in, you provide a Trello API token that authorizes the App to access your Trello account on your behalf.
Information Accessed Through Trello
When you use the App, it accesses the following data from your Trello account via the Trello API:
- Boards (names, descriptions, and metadata)
- Lists (names and status)
- Cards (names, descriptions, due dates, labels, and attachments)
- Checklists and checklist items
- Card attachment previews
Information Collected Automatically
The App does not collect analytics, usage data, crash reports, or device information beyond what is required by the Android operating system and Google Play Services.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information accessed through the App solely to:
- Provide the Service: Display your Trello boards, lists, and cards on your Wear OS device.
- Perform Actions on Your Behalf: Create cards, create lists, manage checklists, and delete cards as you direct.
- Authenticate Your Session: Store your Trello API token locally on your device so you do not need to log in each time.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of the App.
3. How We Store and Secure Information
Local Storage
- Your Trello API token is stored locally on your device using Android DataStore Preferences.
- No Trello content (boards, lists, cards) is cached or stored locally. All content is fetched directly from the Trello API each time you use the App.
Data Transmission
- All communication with the Trello API is conducted over HTTPS (encrypted connections).
- Your API token is transmitted as a query parameter in API requests to
https://api.trello.com/ and is never sent to any other server.
No Server-Side Storage
The App does not operate its own servers or backend infrastructure. We do not collect, store, or process your data on any external server. All data flows directly between your device and Trello's API.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third parties.
Your data is transmitted only to:
- Trello (Atlassian): The App communicates directly with the Trello API to provide its functionality. Your use of Trello is governed by Atlassian's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Libraries
The App uses the following open-source libraries for its operation. These libraries process data locally on your device and do not transmit data to external servers:
- Retrofit / OkHttp — HTTP client for Trello API communication
- Moshi — JSON parsing
- Coil — Image loading for card attachment previews
- AndroidX libraries — UI components, lifecycle management, and local data storage
5. How Long We Keep Information
- API Token: Your Trello API token remains stored on your device until you log out of the App or uninstall it. You can clear your token at any time by using the logout function.
- Trello Data: No Trello content is persisted on your device. Data is held only in memory during active use and is discarded when the App is closed.
6. How to Access and Control Your Information
You have full control over your data:
- Log Out: Use the App's logout function to remove your stored API token from the device.
- Uninstall: Removing the App from your device deletes all locally stored data, including your API token.
- Revoke Access: You can revoke the App's access to your Trello account at any time through your Trello account settings.
- Manage Trello Data: To access, modify, or delete your Trello data, use Trello directly or refer to Atlassian's Privacy Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
